Cassie Felder founded The Cassie Felder Law Firm with the singular vision of providing the finest legal services available to businesses and high net worth individual clients.

ATTORNEY PROFILE

    Cassie was raised in Hammond, Louisiana, but moved to New Orleans to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at the University of New Orleans. There, she was a member of the UNO Ambassadors, a select group of students hand-picked by the Chancellor to represent the university at social and political functions, fundraisers, and alumni gatherings. She further distinguished herself as Student Government Senator for the College of Liberal Arts.

    Cassie E. Felder practices in the areas of corporate law, business law, estate planning, tax planning, commercial litigation, and tax litigation. She earned an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 2001, and a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University School of Law in 2000. She lived nearly her entire life in Louisiana, but spent over two years as special counsel in the intellectual property section at Baker Botts, L.L.P in Austin, Texas, having been forced from her home in New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She returned to Louisiana in 2008 to resume practicing law in the areas stated above. In February of 2010, Cassie opened her own firm in Baton Rouge, now known as The Cassie Felder Law Firm, L.L.C. (“CFL”).

    Cassie is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the state of Texas, the state of Colorado (inactive), the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Tax Court.

    Since beginning her career as a lawyer, Cassie made time to volunteer and be an active member of her community. Cassie has participated in the Baton Rouge Bar Foundation Pro Bono Project, including Thirst for Justice and individual representation of clients; New Orleans Bar Association, including the Young Lawyers Association and Moot Court Competition Committee; New Orleans Mediation/Arbitration Association, including volunteer mediation for family court cases; and numerous hours providing pro bono work for members of her community outside of any organization. Cassie was appointed to the Baton Rouge Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Transit and continued to serve on to the Steering Committee for the Baton Rouge Transit Coalition. Cassie either is or has served as a member of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, including being a member of the Fresh Perspectives Council, the Legislative Committee, the Small Business Council, and Chair of the Advocacy Committee for the Small Business Council; a member of the American Bar Association; Louisiana Bar Association; Texas Bar Association; Colorado Bar Association; Baton Rouge Bar Association; Baton Rouge Association for Woman Attorneys; the Legal/Medical Interprofessional Committee of the Louisiana State Bar Association; Forum 35; the Downtown Development District; the Downtown Business Association; the National Federation of Independent Business; Louisiana Association of Business and Industry; Urban Development Steering Committee for Plank Road Businesses; Small Business Advisory Council for Louisiana Economic Development under both Secretary Stephen Moret and Secretary Don Pierson; a member of the Louisiana Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council, appointed by Governor John Bell Edwards; a member of the 2013 Baton Rouge Area Leadership Class, continuing as a member of the Baton Rouge Leadership Alumni; an award recipient for Baton Rouge Business Report’s 2013 Forty Under Forty; and named a 2013 Super Lawyer Rising Star, an honor provided to less than two and a half percent of the lawyers in the state. Cassie sat on the Board of Directors for SeNSE BR, is the past chair of SeNSE BR’s Business Organization Committee and Judicial Committee, is the past chair of the Finance Committee, and is the past Treasurer. Cassie currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Baton Rouge Opera Guild, having served as BROG’s First Vice President and Second Vice President. Cassie also sits on the Boards of Directors for Catholic Charities and the Louisiana Association for Business and Industry (LABI), currently serving as LABI’s Small Business Council Chair. In 2014, Cassie added running for United States Congress to her list of activities by running for Louisiana’s Sixth Congressional District Representative seat for that election cycle.
